Took my 1999 Jaguar XK8 to Dave's shop with an intermittent electrical fault which did not store any error codes on the computer so unable to fully determine what the problem was but the car is running OK again. The likelihood is that the problem will re-occur so will keep driving it till that happens and take it from there, maybe an error code will be stored next time. Dave reckons it is probably the throttle body which is a very expensive part to replace so time will tell. Dave was very reasonable as always, a good and trustful person to deal with.

The dilemma for a Jaguar owner is where to take your beloved motor car for repairs and servicing. You can't bring yourself to go to somewhere like Meineke or Pep-Boys which I am sure are just fine for your Toyota but one shudders to think what they would do to your Jag. So that leaves the dealer and once you have experienced them you will know you need a viable alternative. I think I might have stumbled on to a hidden gem with Discovery Automotive. Dave is the techie and Tracy runs the place while the very large and very sweet shop dog greets everyone with much love. My experience here was impeccable. From diagnosis through to completion of the work I got the distinct feeling that they know their stuff and that they were not out to empty my wallet the way the dealer is. I know that mechanics can be hit or miss and that finding one you can trust is a challenge but this one really is worth a shot. Bring them your Jag or Land Rover, you will not be disappointed.
